RG-1
Eight layers from airframe to operator.
ReconGrid's reference architecture describes how vehicles, sensors, links, computation and people fit together. Select any layer to see its purpose, inputs, outputs, dependencies and current limitations. All layers are shown as conceptual until their implementation status is confirmed.

Aerial platforms
Provide the physical vehicles that carry payloads into the environment, hold position, and fly planned survey patterns under operator supervision.
- Inputs
- Flight commands and waypoints
- Operator overrides
- Geofence and airspace constraints
- Outputs
- Vehicle state (pose, velocity, battery)
- Payload carriage and stabilisation
- Key dependencies
- Flight controller firmware
- Communication links
- Ground control
- Limitations
- Endurance, payload and weather limits are platform-specific and not yet characterised for this site.
- Operation is subject to local aviation regulation and pilot certification.
RG-2
One terrain. Every layer.
A shared world model lets different sensors, aircraft and missions contribute to one picture. This interactive viewer demonstrates the idea with procedurally generated terrain and clearly synthetic data layers.

RGB imagery
Synthetic orthophoto · vegetation → soil → rock
All terrain, imagery, thermal values, point clouds, trajectories and measurements in this viewer are procedurally generated demonstration data. They do not represent a real location, sensor, or mission result.
RG-3
Coordinated coverage, supervised by people.
A simplified simulation of coverage-aware tasking: aircraft survey sectors, return to charge at a battery threshold, and released sectors are automatically reassigned. Select an aircraft to recall it or assign it a different sector.

RG-5
Built around sensing, mapping and safety.
Search and rescue
Divide the search area into sectors, fly coordinated coverage patterns, and flag thermal anomalies for human review — while the coverage map records what has been seen and with what confidence.
Industrial site monitoring
Scheduled surveys feed a persistent site model, with volumetric, thermal and environmental layers maintained over time.
Terrain intelligence
Combine LiDAR and photogrammetry from coordinated flights into elevation models, contours and slope analysis.
Environmental monitoring
Attach environmental readings to precise locations and build layered maps that show patterns and change over time.
Responsible scope
ReconGrid is focused on sensing, mapping, safety and human-supervised operations. It is not designed or marketed for weapons, targeting or offensive use. Operational use must comply with aviation, privacy and data-protection law in each jurisdiction.
